Architecture and package
The architecture and package considers the general layout of the vehicle and its components. In order to design a car, first a selection of components needs to be made based on the desired use and its features and specifications.
Intended Use
For c,mm,n we aim to provide a car as part of a full-service mobility bundle. This service aims at the starting lease driver. These are young people, around 24-32 years of age. They are single or in a relationship with young or no children. Their aim is to flourish in their jobs and in life. c,mm,n is made to support that life, even change it a bit. Let's observe a day in our c,mm,n future:
- 7:10: your mobility assistant wakes you 10 minutes later, because there is little traffic today.
- 8:00: you check you mail and appointments at home. You have an appointment at 10:00 in Amsterdam.
- 8:45: You mobility assistant warns you that you should leave in 10 minutes. He asks you if he should book a platoon and reserve a parking place for you.
- 8:55: When you enter your c,mm,n it has already heated up/cooled down the interior. Your personal web radio is on and you drive to the highway.
- 9:15: On the highway c,mm,n asks if he should take over control. A platoon of cars is about to pass and you can hook into it. This saves you money and time. Not having to drive, you can prepare the meeting for a bit.
- 9:30: The car asks you to take over control again to take the next exit. There is an unpredicted traffic jam ahead and it is faster to take the train from here.
- 9:40: You step into the train and continue working untill you arrive. For the last kilometers a bike has been reserved for you at the train station.
- 10:10: Your appointment is late, he was in the traffic jam. You tell him about c,mm,n and that it would have enabled you to meet at dedicated meeting places at smart points, thus avoiding traffic.
- 11:45: After you appointment you have recieved a message from a collegue. He has spotted you in Amsterdam on your planner today and wants to meet you there. You agree and c,mm,n plans your and his trip there. With traffic predictions and your further schedules, Schiphol is the best option. You take the train.
